The Register is reporting that Adobe is suing Macromedia over the use of user interface elements it claims are covered by a patent Adobe filed in 1994.

The Adobe Macromedia merger is expected to close soon and Macromedia has just announced Studio8. That makes me wonder about the timing of the above story.
The Register carries a link to website Adobe Facts which it says, Adobe has created to defend its use of the patent. I am not sure if this points to the right website.
