The 7 habits of highly effective websites

By Effective, I refer to websites that command a better ranking in search engines.

Here’s my compilation of tips for better ranking in Google and other search engines.

1. Write Regularly, Write Original Content, Split large pages into 3-4 smaller pages of size ~30-40 Kb.

2. Stuff keywords in the Page Title, Domain Name and URL of the webpage separated with hyphens.

3. CSS styles are nice but Google prefers text enclosed in header H1 and Bold tags.

4. Write meaningful description for link text. Download Internet is better than writing Download Internet here

5. Make sure your webpages don’t point to any dead links.

6. Don’t use Flash. Don’t use Frames.

7. Keep your sitemap simple, infact very simple.
